Haul Handbook is a free resource. To keep it free, some of the outbound links on this site may be affiliate links. Affiliate links are now active. They appear only in clearly labeled callouts with a short disclosure, and never inside the sourced facts on our data pages. This page explains exactly what an affiliate link means when we use one, in line with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines on endorsements and disclosures.

What an affiliate link is

An affiliate link is a tracked link to a third-party product or service. If you click one and then sign up or buy, we may earn a commission. That commission comes from the company, not from you, and it does not change the price you pay.

How we decide what to link to

Our editorial content comes first. We describe registration and permit processes from official agency sources, and that content is not influenced by whether a company has an affiliate program. When we point to a paid service, such as business formation, financing, or insurance quoting, it is because the service fits a real step a new carrier faces, and we say plainly that the link is a paid partnership. Where you will see affiliate links

When affiliate links are present, they appear in clearly labeled callout boxes alongside a short disclosure. Every affiliate link uses the rel="sponsored nofollow" attribute so search engines understand the relationship. We do not run display advertising, and we never place affiliate links inside the sourced rate, fee, or requirement tables, such as the IFTA rate matrix or the UCR fee brackets.

Partners can change over time. Whenever a callout features a partner, it names the company and links back to this page.
